THE RULES

  • There is to be no outside assistance except at Transition Areas.
  • For Relay Teams, only one person is allowed on a stage at any time.
  • There is to be no obscene language used towards Race Officials or your fellow competitors.
  • The kayak leg for a relay team can be done either as a double or single
  • During stages with Check Points, competitors must check in with Race Officials.
  • During Stage 5, your Personal Flotation Device (Life Jacket) must be worn properly at all times.
  • Race Bibs must be worn on the exterior of outer clothing, including PFDs.
  • Mandatory equipment must be carried on your person or bike at all times. Please refer to the Mandatory Gear List for specific Stages.
  • Competitors must sign in at the beginning of each day and sign out at the end of each day.
  • For the relay teams, one person can kayak or two people in a double kayak
  • If a competitor or team drops out of the race, a Withdrawal Form must be filled out at the next Transition Area.
  • If a competitor is injured or in need of assistance, we will ask that First-Aid be rendered.
  • Competitors must be able to swim as river crossings may be in chest-high water.
  • There is to be no destruction of Flora or Fauna.
  • Competitors under the age of 18 must have a Parent or Guardian sign a waiver form.
  • Please note that there will be two (2) cut-off times for the race:
    • The first is at Macqueripe (the beginning of Stage 5), where no athlete will be allowed to enter the water later than 3:30 p.m.
    • The second is at Yacht Club (Check Point 4 of the Kayak Leg), where paddlers will not be allowed to continue the race if they do not check in at CP4 by 5:00 p.m.
